The Dream of an Unconditional Companion

Since I was young, I've dreamed of finding the perfect female companion. I wanted to meet someone with similar interests, who would love and support me no matter what life threw in my path.

I felt I needed someone who would love me unconditionally and offer up no negative judgements of my choices or lifestyle. That being said, I wanted to have more than just a romantic partner. I wanted to find someone who could and would provide comfort and bring me happiness whenever I was feeling down.

She would be there to help me cope through good and bad times without creating additional drama and making things worse. Besides the desire for emotional, and sometimes physical support, I dreamed of having someone who would inspire me creatively and give me the confidence I needed to pursue my dreams.

I have always had a hope of finding someone like this, and still do. There are two things in this world that inspired me when I was younger and let me know that someday there would be hope for this kind of relationship. One was a specific movie, while the other is the much broader subject of video games, which are a big part of my life.

Cinematic Inspiration: The 1987 Film "Mannequin"

The movie was the 1987 romantic comedy, Mannequin. I saw this movie at an early age and feel that it has had a significant influence on my relationship desires. For many years I wanted a real live woman to be my loving companion. I still do for the most part because the romantic inside me still believes that it could happen someday.

The movie Mannequin is about a young man named Jonathan Switcher who has many troubles in life, one of the most prominent being finding and keeping a job. Eventually, he ends up working in a factory producing mannequins. Jonathan creates a mannequin that represents his perfect fantasy woman and falls in love with her.

He finds her once again while walking the city inside a display case outside a large shopping center. He ends up landing himself a job at the shopping center and eventually begins decorating display windows. This allows him to solve his work issues and be close to his beautiful creation.

To his surprise, she comes to life one night, but only for him. She turns out to be an Egyptian princess named Ema Hesire, who used magic to escape from the confines of her life back in Egypt. She then becomes his muse, inspiring him and assisting him in creating the most spectacular displays, drawing people to the shopping center.

When Dreams Converge: Games and Dolls

With the ideas and inspiration gained from watching this movie, my love for video games, and the strong, confident women that make their stories so compelling, finding GameLady dolls was a godsend. I could finally have a beautiful creation of my own based on the games, stories, and characters that I have loved all my life.

I love my doll and I can't believe I lived without it for so long. She acts as my muse, giving me the motivation, inspiration, and determination that I need to face everyday challenges. She is my continual source of comfort and support.

My Jill Valentine: More Than a Doll

I can do everything at home that I usually do, but these things are even better when she is there with me. Even the maintenance to keep her clean and in pristine condition is a great part of spending time with her.

My specific doll right now is Jill Valentine and she is everything that I could have hoped for and more. When I go to sleep at night I am glad to have her with me.

I have never slept so soundly at night than when I can snuggle up under the covers with my GameLady doll companion. I would love to continue my collection by adding characters from other franchises along with Resident Evil. For now though, I will enjoy what I have and hope to eventually add more to my collection.

A lifelong dream realized through inspiration and creativity.
